Autopilot - Reuse Existing Devices
Hey there,
I have a few laptops that have been used for lab testing app deployment and other settings. I'm starting into the testing phase for Autopilot and I'd like to reuse these devices for that testing as well. I've pulled the HWID for the devices and I've created a deployment profile which I assigned to a group for the reused devices. Can I import the HWID into that group before doing a reset on the laptops or should I remove the existing devices from AAD & Intune first? Is there a better process for this?
TIA

Hi DGMalcolm
1. If the devices are not imported into Autopilot devices before and they are MDM enrolled, I would use Automatic Registration of Existing Devices.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/autopilot/automatic-registration
2. If imported and used AutoPilot before, I would remove the devices from Intune and Azure AD - reset the devices and import the hashes again. You need to wait till the profile get assigned to the new Azure AD device.
3. I have used this tool in the past as a replacement for grabbing the hashes manually and import directly to Intune.
