Autopatch for quality updates and WUFB for feature updates
- Jul 09, 2026
Hi, yes, this can usually work as long as the policies do not conflict. Keep Autopatch handling the normal quality update rings, then use a separate Intune Feature Update policy targeted only to your pilot groups. I’d use phased groups, clear availability/deadline settings, and confirm the same devices are not receiving competing feature update controls from another ring or policy. Test with a small group first, especially with bandwidth concerns.
You cannot mix and match update types on the same set of devices. However you can split the patching service between update rings and autopatch at a device level. As for the bandwidth concerns, have you considered MCC?
Thank you very much for your message. I will check the MCC option as I was not aware of it
