I'm having the same issue: "it still doesn't prompt for login details upon access".
Did you find a resolution?
I haven't configured Federated Authentication, as we shouldn't need Managed Apple IDs, as we are wanting to authenticate using Entra IDs.
We have this working with Android Devices, but not with iOS.
I'd appreciate any knowledge that you can share.
