Yammer/Viva Engage Notifications in Teams
Hello,
I've been trying to get Yammer/Viva Engage Notifications to work in Microsoft Teams.
There is three methods I know of that I've already tried:
- There seems to be a option in the Microsoft Teams Notifications Settings that you can use if you have added the Viva Engage App in Teams. Problem is that this option doesn't show up for me.
And by default I do not get notified in Teams about new conversations in Yammer. Does anyone know why this isn't available to me? - You can use a Yammer Connector in a Teams channel which posts the new conversations in the Teams channel. This worked a few times, but it has stopped working for some reason. I have set up the connector using my User and I am admin in the Yammer communities that I have selected in the connector settings.
- You could use the Power Automate App with a Yammer workflow to post cards in the Teams channel. This options works, but looks the least appealing, and I would love to use one of the other two options instead if possible.
Has anyone set up a Yammer connection to Teams that actually works? I would appreciate it if you could help me out! Many thanks in advance.
- Looking for the same thing. In the middle of launching Viva Engage to our organization and want to know if there can be community update notifications in Teams, not just Channel updates.

Same here asc23 - my IT admin has the Viva Engage option in his Teams notification settings, but I don't have it. Neither of us can work out why or how to add the option. Can't find anything online either, just posts and videos about email notifications, which is definitely not what we want... we moved all internal comms off email and into Teams years ago, so I definitely don't want those email notifications. Surely there's a way to get the standard red dot and bell notifications in Teams? Pernille-Eskebo can anyone help?
- The notifications option appears to show for those who are licensed to Viva topics.
