An interesting play for Microsoft, but how can they extract $26.2 billion of additional business value?

- Martins NwosehCopper ContributorThere is a gap out there for companies that are able to take advantage of today's social network of organizations, skilled people, recruiters etc., and change the way new hires are recruited, amongst other aspects of the recruitment process life cycle. The current approach seems to be weak and lacks aggressive innovation. Hence, the outsourcing craze. I was actually thinking about a new approach to improving the HR life cycle when I heard about this acquisition. What struck me the most was the fact that I once thought about a possibility of a company like Microsoft and Facebook coming together to achieve this. Now that Microsoft has acquired LinkedIn, that possibility is even greater. I expect to see Microsoft use Office 365 and LinkedIn to bring about a disruptive technology in today’s human resources life cycle. If they could see the huge business values that lie ahead, it will change everything HR.
