shared emailboxes
First of all, what kind of object are you talking about? Shared mailboxes are detailed here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/collaboration-exo/shared-mailboxes
Groups are detailed here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/learn-about-microsoft-365-groups-b565caa1-5c40-40ef-9915-60fdb2d97fa2
Both require you to have Send As permissions in order to send messages using the "shared" email address. Once permissions have been granted, toggle the visibility of the From box (in Outlook this is done under Option in the compose new message window, in OWA it's under the ... menu), then select the shared address and send the message.
It is a shared mailbox not a group. If you add users to the shared box shouldn't that give you permission automatically?
this is an interesting note in the link you sent.
The Full Access permission allows a user to open the mailbox as well as create and modify items in it. The Send As permission allows anyone other than the mailbox owner to send email from this shared mailbox. Both permissions are required for successful shared mailbox operation.

TrevorGNot quite, as VasilMichev has pointed out, each permission does a specific task, send as does exactly that sends as but doesn't have full permission. You need to scope out what each member needs to be able to do before assigning permissions.

No it doesnt give you permissions automatically, you need to add them.
