Send-on-Behalf Permissions works from OWA but not from Outlook 2016

I have tried different steps like Download fresh OAB, Switching to Online mode, creating dedicated Ol profile. Add as additional mailbox etc. But in outlook Send-As works. I do not have both Send-As and Send-on-behalf applied at same time. Whatever i try Send-on-behalf always gives me the permission error in outlook. OWA works.

  • Hi Dilip,
What permission error message are you getting? can you share the screenshot here ?

if it was working already and now its not working then it could be a Auto Complete cache issues , you may have to clear that.

If it was never worked and you are getting error then there must be a permission issues in exchange server. OWA works completely different.

    Hope this helps,

Hi Thuyavan, Thanks for your response. I am trying to get it working for the first time. I have a mail user object having full access and send on behalf on a mailbox. Send on behalf works from OWA but fails from outlook. Autocomplete, GAL update , online mode has been tried out already. Attached error.

When sending the message, make sure to select the address you want to send on behalf of directly from the GAL. Do not use any autocomplete or other "cached" entry. Press the From button, select "Other E-Mail address", press From again and select the corresponding object from the Address book dialog. If you have updated the OAB (which might take up to 48h in O365), you can use it instead, otherwise make sure to select it directly from the Online Global Address List.
