New Windows 10 OneNote: unable to rename or delete or even find local file
Two Office 365 techs and I spent over an hour trying to either delete or rename one. Could open it via the portal or via the new local ON, but not found when searching or looking in local old school OneNote 2016.
Could only find the shortcut to the ON file on local machine. It was in the local OneDrive. Even changed the shortcut properties to "always keep on this machine"
There are no OneNote files or folders in local user's Documents
"closing" the file from the new local OneNote didn't delete it. Emptied Portal Recycle Bin to be sure.
New ON app does not seem to have a delete or rename file function.
Article said to delete must find on local drive and delete. But not there.
Would think there's a way to delete in portal for users who only use the cloud ON.
- So, basically ONeNote differs from other files like word etc where you have a file you can click, rename etc!
Onenotes lives in your onedrive or in in sp where it was created AS a link file!! Normally always work with the onenote file from the onenote application!- Yes, that's correct. That is how it works. It's not a file like Word, but more like a database of stuff typically held in the cloud. But still not sure what your question is though?

Where and how do you rename the file. If from within the Win10 ON app, where would that be done?
Delete the file from where?
Alternatively, can the file be deleted or renamed from the portal?
