INSERTED AUDIO FILES WILL NOT PLAY IN POWER POINT

I receive a cannot play media message when I try to insert an audio file into my Power Point presentation.  My lap top plays media with no problem on everything else.  Just Power Point will not play. I don't see anything that would stop it from playing.
