Mesh Toolkit Update – Questions about Unity, Code Customization & Timeline
If the information bellow is true, then this entire approach by Microsoft towards developers is pathetic. Source:Directiononmicrosoft
Microsoft Mesh is retiring on December 1, 2025, and will be replaced by Teams immersive events. The Mesh PC and Quest apps, mesh.cloud.microsoft website, and the Immersive space (3D) view in Teams will be decommissioned. Organizations should transition to immersive events in Teams and update their documentation.

Updated July 9, 2025: We have updated the content. Thank you for your patience.
We’re retiring the Microsoft Mesh PC and Quest apps, the mesh.cloud.microsoft website, and the Immersive space (3D) view in Microsoft Teams effective December 1, 2025. This change supports our continued investment in immersive events in Teams, which offers a more integrated and scalable 3D meeting experience.
When this will happen:
This change will take effect on December 1, 2025. No admin action is required for the retirement to occur.
How this affects your organization:
After this date:
- Users will no longer be able to attend Mesh events via the Mesh PC or Quest apps.
- The mesh.cloud.microsoft website will be decommissioned, and users will not be able to schedule events or manage templates/environments there.
- The “Immersive space (3D)” view in Teams meetings will no longer be available.
- Joining Teams meetings via the Mesh Quest app will be disabled.
We recommend transitioning to immersive events in Teams, which is accessible via the Teams calendar. To schedule an immersive event, select the drop-down next to New Event, then choose Immersive event.
What you can do to prepare:
- Inform your users about this upcoming change.
- Update internal documentation and training materials.
- Encourage users to explore and adopt immersive events in Teams for 3D meeting experiences.
