Hi Roger,
You can see that changes at AD Connect Server.
Start the Syncronization Service Manager and see the history at Connector Operations.
You can take some time to see all events, but it will tell you what changes cause that problem.

To me it seems to be a synchronization problem since Office 365 is not going to make any changes in your AD...could it happen that those objects were not well prepared in regards of UPN, MailAddress and ProxyAddresses attributes?

The accounts had been working fine prior to last week. The only attribute that I see that could potentially cause a problem is the targetAddress (the remote routing address thing). My process to change names did not change that attribute to reflect the new username. Weird.

Thanks. I was hoping someone had seen this issue before and would give me a quick fix. But I'll go ahead and take your advice and search for the problem myself.
