Not able to activate my Office 365 subscription

This may be because your current license was Office Professional Plus 2016, not Office 365.

Try this:

1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365/install 
2. Log in if necessary
3. Click the blue "Install Office >" button and follow the instructions.
