Viva Insights - Delay Delivery Timestamps

Hello there,

We've been testing the Delay Delivery feature in Viva Insights and we have an issue with how the email gets timestamped.   For example, an email was being written on April 27, 2023, and Viva Insights suggested delaying the delivery of the email until May 2.   When that happens, the email went right into the Sent Items folder with the Sent timestamp indicating April 27, 2023.   When the recipient recieved the email, the timestamp still showed the old date, even though they didn't receive it until May 2.

When there is such disparity between the Sent time and Received time caused by Viva Insights or any other delayed delivery method, it needs to be indicated more clearly.  Otherwise, it appears that the recipient of the delayed email procrastinated those five days before responding.

  • Hi BruceDavis,

Thank you for bringing this feedback to our attention. I will pass this along to the product team and make them aware of the issue your team is having. They may have a solution or be aware of this issue already.

Regardless, we appreciate your feedback and will address this moving forward.

    Thank you,

    Jake

P.S. Bruce please add your company information to your profile.

Hi BruceDavis, I heard back from the product team on this one. This is something they are aware of and the way delayed delivery works currently is by design. This is deeper than Viva Insights - its actually the way Outlook itself works. The team only delayed the arrival time and not the sending time, that's why the sent time reflects the actual sending time when the sender hits the Send button.

I think they need to change the design. Make it so you can see the sent date in the email without going to header info.
