58tm1 sign-in error fixed by blocking legacy MFA authentication (RDS/FSLogix environment)
Path:
Microsoft Entra Admin Center → Entra ID → Conditional Access → Policies → "Block Legacy MFA Authentication" → Status: Enabled
Effect of the Policy
- Blocks old MFA and legacy authentication flows
- Enforces modern authentication (MSAL)
- Prevents token inconsistencies
- Stabilizes sign-ins in:
- RDS environments
- FSLogix profile setups
- Devices without a physical TPM
Result: The 58tm1 error is permanently resolved.
Thanks for this easy and quick solution. I tried this today in a customer environment, until now without any problems and without asking for new password prompts. I'll keep watching 👍
After 3 days the error shows up again. So, this is not the solution for our environment... :-(
