Using a scanner device with HVE
Has anyone had any success in setting up a scanner device with HVE? Everything I've read about the HVE option allows for a scanner to send to HVE, but as I've had no luck in getting my Brother ADS-2800 to communicate with HVE. I've confirmed the settings multiple times, but keep getting the same error when I attempt a test email from the scanner. "
Communication over the network using SSL was unsuccessful. The SSL settings may not be configured to match the server settings. Confirm the send e-mail server "Port" and the setting for "SSL/TLS".
We'd like to use these scanners for sending into a pre-designated internal mailbox. In theory it should work - in practice however, different story.

You are sending scans from a Brother ADS-2800 to one internal mailbox through High Volume Email, but the device says its SSL/TLS mode does not match the server. HVE supports scanners, although the connection settings must match exactly. Use smtp.hve.mx.microsoft, port 587, and STARTTLS/TLS rather than implicit SSL. Authenticate with the full HVE account address and password unless the model supports OAuth. Confirm the account is active in Exchange admin center under Mail flow, High Volume Email, and that a valid pay-as-you-go billing policy is assigned; without one it cannot send. HVE requires TLS 1.2 or later and delivers only to recipients inside your tenant. Update the scanner firmware and verify its date and time, then retest while capturing its SMTP log if available. If the ADS-2800 cannot negotiate STARTTLS with TLS 1.2, use direct send to your tenant MX endpoint on port 25 instead.
