Shared calendar access very slow
When trying to access a shared clendar in Exchange Online from Outlook 2013 it is very slow to open / create items. We have tried numerous things to improve performance without luck, eg.
- check anti virus isn't causing problems
- turning off hardware accelaration
- turn off caching for shared folders
- etc.
We have discovered today that during the wait for an item to load (which can take in excess of 20 seconds) if we perform a "Reconnect" from the "Connection Status" option of the systray icon then the item will open as soon as the reconnect occurs.
Can anybody advise what we can do to improve performance?

I should also point out that accessing other mail items in a shared mailbox is not nearly as slow as accessing calendar items
