Prevent OOO on Forwarded Emails
Hi guys,
I am losing my mind in finding a solution.
Our management wants a copy of all emails from some shared mailboxes in their own mailbox, but then the problem appear that their OOO were sent to these forwarded emails too. So now I am rying to find a solution in how to prevent these OOO replies to forwarded Emails.
Tried it with Exchange rules only, even with Power Automate, but no luck so far.
Please help!
Thanks in advance

Hi MSDMC
it's better to use rule instead of OOO, I'm using a rule (Server Side rule) to achieve the same by this criteria.
1- Condition is where my name is in the to or cc box
2- action is have the server replay by this template (enter OOO message )
3- Except you can enter whatever exception you want
by using these you will avoid replaying to every message that is not sent directly to the management .

- MSDMCCopper ContributorHi Recep,
Yes, I think ultimatively this could work, but I do not want to manage the OOO Replies of my managers as well 😉
- Forward to a DG instead, and toggle the property to suppress OOOs therein (SendOofMessageToOriginatorEnabled). Then add the management mailboxes as members.

Thanks for answering - I tried it already with Email Forwarding to a SecurityGroup and was expecting that I can apply a new rule in Exchange to all these Emails with the Message Type "AutoForward" ro prevent the OOO on these, but somehow it doesn´t work - isn´t your solution the same?- No need for a rule, just set the SendOofMessageToOriginatorEnabled property on the group.
