Meeting invite comes in as a regular mail with ics attachment in Outlook

Hi All,

We are dealing with a situation were a meeting invite from external sender comes into our environemnt just like a regular mail and with an ics attachment. We have some configurations done with this sender and we expect the invite to come in just like our own recipients. When i say just like our recipients what I do mean is, the mail should have the accept, deny, tentative options and the meeting details within the body of the mail.

We are in a hybrid exchange setup and our mailboxes are hosted in Office365, and we have adapted centralised mail-flow method for both outbound & inbound.

I have a feeling could this be a platform related issue? Because i did sent a test meeting invite from my gmail personal id to my Office365 id and it came in with ics attachment but it came in as a meeting invite instead of a regular mail.
