Export list of folder names + content to be used in OneDrive
Hello, is it possible to export the list of folders/subfolders/content from Outlook to OneDrive?
We have an ongoing inquiry from a user who uses ~10k Outlook folders/subfolders. We've determined OneDrive should be the host for this, but wanting to avoid manually creating the folders in OneDrive, then dragging/dropping the contents from Outlook to OD. Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance,
Morghan
- There are no built-in tools for this scenario, but you can use macros and low-level tools to export Outlook items. Here's a sample article: https://www.extendoffice.com/documents/outlook/5095-outlook-copy-folder-structure-to-windows-explorer.html
And one via MFCMAPI: https://www.codetwo.com/kb/import-export-with-mfcmapi/
Once exported, you can easily upload to OneDrive.

Hi VasilMichev - thank you, this is extremely helpful. I used the script from the first link to accomplish what I was looking for with my own mailbox, The true test will be running the same on a mailbox that has over 9,000 folders/subfolders!
Thanks again,
