Exchange Server On Premise Time Date
Hello,
Can anyone confirm that e-mail received by Exchange Server does not go to the Inbox and is placed based on the time and date it was sent from Sender, but the time and date the Exchange Server received the e-mail. Management is questioning this as a recipient said an e-mail was delayed for weeks but then appeared in the in-box at the time and date it was sent. It was a time sensitive e-mail. The server shows it was received when it was sent with no delay. Can you confirm that the received date in Outlook attached to Exchange Server is when the e-mail was actually received?
Thanks very much!

- Dan_SnapeBronze ContributorThat is correct. The headers of the message are also updated to include the hops taken by the message and the times as well, so analyse the message headers and you'll get more details.
