Exchange Online: Forwarding of the email
Hello,
I would appreciate your help with the following question: A user (User A) is out of office and activates a forwarding rule to a collegue (User B) and after that User B also drops out so that he creates his own forwarding rule to the next collegue (User C). A kind of "forwarding cascade" develops and in this situation.
The question is what is happening with the email that is sent by person A? Will it be delivered also to the person C? If not, if there are any docs from Microsoft regarding some limitations here?
Thanks in advance for clarification!

- They should be forwarded, unless a mail flow loop is detected.

Cause I tested the following: I have set the different kind of the rules with the different combinations: I used the option forwarding, redirect and forwarding as an attachment for all emails and from a specific person and so on. It does not work.
Maybe can it be blocked somewhere in the settings?
Cause I even do not see anywhere that the emails was trying to be sent to the person C of the email that was sent to A.
Thanks for reply once again! 🙂- If you are using Inbox rules, they only act if the message reaches the mailbox. Which will never be the case when mailbox-level forwarding or transport rule is used.
