exchange 2010 CAS and coexistence with 2016

In a migration scenario with exchange 2010 and 2016 where a casarray was defined in exchange 2010 should the cas fqdn be moved to point to exchange 2016 ?

We also found that the new mailbox databases created on the exchange 2016 server have the RpcClientAccessServer property set as the cas fqdn "cas.domain.local"

Is this correct ?
