Xcel Sum function
Hi,
I have followed the process to get the Sum of a range of currency amounts but the total arrived at is "0"
Please advise why should this be "0".

One reason might be your bad habit of putting quotes around numbers. Zero is 0, not "0".
The amounts that you are SUMing might be text, not numeric. Use formulas of the form =ISTEXT(A1) to confirm (or disprove) that A1 is indeed text. Looks can be deceiving; and the format of the cell does not matter.
If they are indeed text and you cannot figure out why, attach an example Excel file that demonstrates the problem. There are many possible reasons.
Please clarify why the sum shouldn't be 0.
-8 5 3 0 The sum of first three values is 0.
