Worksheet tabs have disappeared in MS365 version of Excel
- Nov 25, 2023
SuzyQ820 Can't replicate that behavior in Excel for the Web. How does the bottom left-hand corner of the Excel tab (when viewed in your browser)? Mine looks like this:
I've read some post suggesting that some browsers cause this problem, but I can't verify it. Which one do you use?
In any way, the suggestions given by Saima14 's AI robot are not going to help you as they do not apply to Excel for the Web.
Reset Excel Preferences:
Close all Excel files.
Open Excel and go to "File" > "Options" > "Advanced."
Scroll down to the "Display" section and check the "Show all windows in the Taskbar" option.
Click "OK" and restart Excel.
Check Workbook View Options:
Open a workbook, go to the "View" tab.
In the "Workbook Views" group, make sure "Normal" is selected.
Check Zoom Level:
Sometimes, if the zoom level is too high, it might affect the display of tabs. Ensure your zoom level is set to a normal view.
Update Office:
Make sure your Microsoft 365 subscription is up to date. Check for and install any available updates.
Repair Microsoft 365 Installation:
Open "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features."
Find Microsoft 365 in the list, right-click, and select "Change."
Choose "Quick Repair" and follow the prompts.
Check for Add-ins:
Add-ins can sometimes cause display issues. Disable them and see if the problem persists.
Create a New Excel Profile:
Sometimes, user profiles can become corrupted. Create a new profile and see if the issue persists.
If none of these solutions work, it's possible that there might be a specific issue with your installation or the file itself. Contacting Microsoft Support or checking community forums might provide more tailored assistance. Good luck! :hammer_and_wrench:️:bar_chart:
How that could help with Excel for web?

If you're not experiencing the issue in Excel for the web and all sheets are visible in the tab, it might be specific to the desktop version. Another thing to check is if there's a scroll bar at the bottom of the sheet tabs—if there are too many sheets to fit, they might be hiding there.
Your workaround using the Navigation pane in Excel for the web is clever—it's great to have alternatives while troubleshooting. Hope your Excel tabs mystery gets solved soon! :hammer_and_wrench:️:bar_chart: If the issue persists, reaching out to Microsoft Support might provide more targeted assistance.

Let go back to initial question.
- sheets are not visible in Excel for web
- OP opens the file in desktop app and all works fine
So, if no problems in desktop and they are only in web version why we have to change the profile, how it could help?
