Why doesn't this function work?
EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED (SIMPLE FORMATTING ERROR --> Solution is to change column E format to Number if set to Date format)

I am trying to make a countdown timer for various ToDo Lists I...

The problem is in formatting, change the format of the cell to General format.
Go to Home >> Number
And you will notice that cell is formatted as Date.
You can change the format from the drop-down list to General format.
Or you can use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+~
