VALUE errors in Excel 2019

Hi. Please help me. When I attempt to perform the simplest of SUM functions with data that's imported from another source, such as a PDF or web page, I get a VALUE error in Excel 19. If I re-type the data the formula works fine, but it won't accept data that's pasted in. TIA.

    Yes, usually copy/pasted from web/pdf data contains non-printable characters like CHAR(160) which are to be cleaned.

    Can you provide your workbook?  Sounds like there might be spaces brought over from PDF?
