Stock Data Type – Stock Quotes and More
Hi Team,
I trust you are well.
I am trying to use the stock data type feature on excel but it is not working. The following message keeps popping up then I click on the Stock Icon: "We need to fix your account. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu > Sign out. Then sign back in with the account associated with a suscription." Could you please advise if it has to do with my subscription or may be this feature doesn't work in the region I am located at the moment?
Wishing you a pleasant day ahead.
Michel

Mitch0889 I had the same issue while using Excel V 16.58 on my 2020 MacBook Air.
My work around was as follows:
1. Open a blank Excel sheet
2. Excel > Sign Out...
3. Quit Excel
4. Open a blank Excel sheet
5. File > New From Template
6. "Sign In" on the toolbar ( should be followed by "Home", "New", "Recent" etc)
7. Sign in with your Office 365 Subscription. NOTE: STOCKHISTORY requires a Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, or Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscription. You can view your type of subscription at Microsoft.com > My Account > Services & subscriptions.
If you do not have a subscription, it may cost money to upgrade.
8. Once you are signed in with a proper subscription, open your previous sheet and StockHistory should work.
This was a workaround I replicated a few times for myself and my friends. Notably, we all are undergrad students using University provided Office 365 Subscriptions.
Please let me know if this works for you and your situation.
