Solver Add-in Error

Whenever I try to add solver to excel, excel stops working and shuts off. Once it closes, I try to open it up again and it says to disable solver add-in because it is having trouble working with solver. I need solver for my class. Can you please help me? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve also updated it, so my system is up to date. Please help me and let me know what this issue is.
