Setting Date/Months on X Axis

I have a simple table with months in the first column then data in the next few columns. I create the graph and across the bottom X axis I want the months for 2022 from Jan to Sep. The X axis options only show Minimum and Maximum for Bounds and Major and Minor for the Units. I can only set the Major Units to 31 and Minor to 28. The problem is the data points on the graph don't line up after Feb as there are only 28 days in Feb.  I have been on to Microsoft support who told me to 'Click Add Chart Element, click Axes, and then click More Axis Options. The Format Axis pane appears.'  Unfortunately the only two options under Axes are Primary Vertical and Primary Horizontal.  This is also the case if you click on the X Axis on the graph which brings up the right menu screen, there is no 'Axis Type' option available.  I am running Microsoft 365 for Mac.

Could you post a screenshot of the data, or better, attach a sample workbook (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?

Here are a couple of screenshots.  The first showing the spreadsheet with the right menu screen for the X Axis.  The second is a screenshot from an online Microsoft site showing what should be available.

Thanks. It looks like your chart is an XY Scatter chart. I'd change it to a Line chart. You should then have the options shown in your second screenshot.
