saving .csv files from my bank's website as excel files on my mac

3 months ago I was able to do this and 12 months ago it was ok but now I can't. There are violation messages, Read only messages even when I unlock the file and change it to READ & WRITE. I cannot open a new Excel file and go to DATA & try to import data it won't do it. My Mac is OS Monterey 12.6.2 and is automatically updated. Could it now be too old

The newest Mac OS is Ventura 13.2.1.

The newest Excel version is 16.73.

That, however, shouldn't be the problem. Excel should be able to open those csv files without trouble. Or, since you have a Mac, open the files in Numbers and save as XLSX and then open in Excel.
