Retrieving auto recovered files

I've noticed that when clicking on "recover Unsaved files", Excel defaults to a folder for opening said files that is NOT the folder where Excel stores the unsaved files or workbooks. They are in a completely different location. Is there a way to set Excel to open the proper folder?  I can map my way manually over to the file locations but I am trying to make this easier for less-savvy Excel users in my household.  Any suggestions?
