Refresh for Azure Analysis Services in Excel Online

We have been trying for months unsuccessfully to get a refresh working on an Azure SSAS Tabular source in Excel online. This works fine in desktop but fails in excel online with the message attached.

 

This is s a very important functionality for our clients. Anyone if this is possible and how?

    Could you solve that?

    I have a similar problem - what I intend to do is...


    1. Connect Excel to SSAS-Tabular (OnPrem) & Create Pivot Report (OK)
    2. Publish to PBI Service (File -> Publish -> Workspace) (OK)
    3. Use of the Excel report within Power BI Service with a live connection (including RLS) via gateway. (FAILED)

     

    Within Power BI that's actually Excel Online (O365) 

     

    And that does not work.

     

    Any idea?
