Official windows HEVC app no longer creating thumbnails for videos

I was actually able to get it to work by downgrading to version 2.1.41 from January, I got it from here: https://hevc-video-extensions-from-device-manufacturer.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions . It’s not an ideal solution because it’s from a third party, but it works until Microsoft patches it in a newer version
Just wanted to add that 2.1.41.0 also worked for me from that site. Suddenly had this problem and was at a loss until I found your advice. Thank you.
