Problems with multiple text fields in a Pivot Table

Oh my! After reading some of the questions on this blog, i have to admit that i am a newbie to pivot tables and my question is rudimentary by comparison. I am having difficulty getting my data to appear the way i want it.  I have been trying to copy/paste some of my results into this post and having trouble with the fomatting. Please see the attatched word document that outlines the issue i am having adding multiple descriptive numeric text fields without the table trying to perform some type of function on them, such as adding the product numbers.

Thank you for any help you can provide. My pivot table guru is on vacation and i am trying to work on this price variance analysis

  • Hi Sari,

    1) Add as rows

    2) Adding the field right click and uncheck Subtotals

    3) When right click on previous field and in Field settings change it on to show in tabular form

The Pivot Table will be like this

Or more faster (if for all fields) right click with PivotTable on PivotTable properties and select Classic table

Uncheck Show expand/collapse buttons here if you don't need them and uncheck Sutotals then
