Operational Model help
What's the class? What kind of operational model?
And if you're supposed to create it, wouldn't that mean creating it from scratch?
Let's assume it's some kind of business management class: surely you've gotten on-paper models of cash flow, balance sheets, business plan projections. Those paper models could be the basis for creating your own Excel based models to answer "What-if?" questions on a hypothetical business plan, for example.
Or if it's personal financial planning, again, you would (by your final year) have an idea of what a personal financial plan would look like.
There are many basic/introductory books on Excel itself. I should think that you and your classmates would benefit from this assignment far more by getting one of those basic Excel books [if it's what you need to get started] and then build your own model from scratch--whatever the subject matter is. We learn far more by struggling through such a task than by copying and tweaking what somebody else has already done. By all means use the experts here at this website to tweak a tricky Excel function or two, but build the overall framework yourselves first.
