Number format using Color index is not working in Excel for Mac
Hi everyone,
I use Color Index on number format in Excel for windows:
[Color10]#,##0.00;[Red]#,##0.00
Opening this excel on Mac cause an error getting a message trying to recover formatting and end up with no formatting at all. I noticed that this is only the case when I use Colorindex apart from the named colors i.e. blue, green etc.
Have you faced similar issue?
Kind regards,
Manos

Hi Manos2465
That is due to the different color management in the operating systems.
It is best to use the color name instead of the indexing.

Jihad Al-Jarady Thank you Jihad, still this is not convenient at all. as you don't have the availability of all colors.
Moreover and most annoying is that windows users are not aware of this limitation and on top Mac users are not prompted that its something not supported by their system... but rather a message for file repaid attempt...
