Need help with formula

I am pretty new to excel and haven't used it a lot. I am trying to create a project that can help me at work with calculating amps. I work with security equipment  I want to be able to input a part number and the quantity and have it calculate the total amp output. Is there a way to do this with Excel? If so, would anyone be willing to teach me how to do so?
