Need help with Excel - finding the right formula.or function to use
I have a worksheet with many rows which I get from our financial team. One of the columns is a truncated name of a service in all caps. I have a separate worksheet with a list of full mixed case services names.
For example - my main sheet has a value of "MY DOG IS NAMED A" and the separate sheet has a row with "My Dog is named Ace".
I am trying to find a formula that will let me find the closest match to return the full name

Case doesn't matter. More important are services names truncated compare to full ones or shortened. Other words, that's always "MY DOG IS NAMED A" and "MY DOG IS NAMED B" or could be simply "Dog A" and "Dog B".
Better to see more actual sample with few records in each list to understand how it works.

SergeiBaklan - thanks - I actually solved it.......
1. My secondary sheet with the full names needed to be sorted.
2. I used this VLOOKUP
=VLOOKUP(TRIM(AO44) & "zzz",SvcNames!$A$2:$A$40,1,TRUE)

Yes, if that's trimmed, not shortened names, approximate search could work. Thank you for the update.
