Need help counting and listing certain text in cells
Hi I am trying to show and count how many "texts" I have in a column. I did a while ago but for the life of me I can't remember. I know it's not a difficult formula. Any help would be sooo...

thanks for the quick response! I tried that and it just counts how many of the same value are in column B. I'm trying to number the same values in column B for example.
201200 1
201205 1
201205 2
201205 3
201206 1
201207 1
201207 2
201207 3

If as in your sample you may use relative reference in Ed' formula
=COUNTIF($B$3:$B3,$B3)Please check in column C attached.
