MS Excel 2016 linked references
Hi Everyone !
We use MS Excel 2016..
Say we have 1 spreadsheet with 2 tabs: "A" & "B".
Values in tab "B" are pulled from "A" via typical linked references..
If values in tab A change, it will cause the linked cells in B to update.
A. How can we have linked cells in B remain the same even if their references in A change.
B. How can we have new cells in B be created each time the values of the linked cells in A update ?
Thank you so much !

To keep linked cells in B remain the same even if their references in A change, you can use the Paste Special feature. After copying the cells from tab A, you can paste them in tab B using the Paste Special feature and select Values. This will paste the values of the cells in tab A to tab B, and the cells in tab B will no longer be linked to tab A
To have new cells in B be created each time the values of the linked cells in A update, you can use the Paste Link feature. After copying the cells from tab A, you can paste them in tab B using the Paste Link feature. This will create a link between the cells in tab A and tab B, and the cells in tab B will be updated automatically when the cells in tab A are updated
I hope this helps!
