Brandywinebob What happens when you press Enter when a bulleted\numbered paragraph is added to the list?

Doug_Robbins_Word_MVP I do not understand your question, as worded.
- The problem is with a list that is active. Pressing "enter" increments the list so I can add another entry, topic, subject, etc. If I don't need the newly added increment, backspace formerly removed the new (unneeded) item, but now backspace is useless.
- [Backspace worked in this message box, but DOES NOT work in MSWord]

Brandywinebob Press Enter TWICE! The first one starts a new paragraph with a bullet. The second one changes it to a paragraph in the Normal style without a bullet.
- JackHickeyApr 16, 2024Copper ContributorThis does nothing. I can press Enter a hundred times, the curser stays on the bullet and does not start a new paragraph.
- Dorset_Cocker_1408Mar 22, 2024Copper ContributorI had this problem myself and was getting very frustrated, so I asked a work colleague and they said to just uncheck the Bullet Point Box. Mine was high-lighted in grey, so I just clicked on it with the cursor, the grey box disappeared and so did the Bullet Point I didn't want!

That’s a work-around, not a solution. I should not have to take my fingers - or hand - off of the keyboard. That’s a flaw, not a feature! I figured out the same work-around, but BEFORE, all one had to do was hit “Enter” (new bullet) and then backspace (look Ma, no hands!) to remove the unneeded bullet.
