Linking spreadsheets on iPad or Galaxy note

HI, I am going travelling for three months and need to access some spreadsheets which contain links to each other.  I have a galaxy note s6 and an older ipad which I have downloaded Excel to. However both of these have disabled the links, even when accessed through OneDrive. 
Any ideas as to how (or if) the links can be enabled in either galaxy note or ipad
