Insert Word Doc (like a resume) into an Excel spreadsheet cell and edit Word Doc icon

Running Mac OS Catalina and inserting Word Doc resumes via "insert object" into an Excel spreadsheet.  Can get the resume in but can't edit the MS Word icon once in Excel.  Thoughts?
