    Lizzy2320 Perhaps like this then:

    =IF(ISBLANK(A1),"",IF(ISBLANK(B1),TODAY()-A1,B1-A1))

If the cells are blank it will return a number.

=IF(ISBLANK(A1),"",IF(ISBLANK(B1),TODAY()-A1,B1-A1))
