IF, AND, OR - HELP!
Hi! My son (who is a programmer, but doesn't use EXCEL) wrote me a formula I need for a spreadsheet. I'm VERY rusty using EXCEL, I need a bit of help translating what he sent me into an excel formula. Basically, I need the formula to check a total and based on that total give a discount. I've given him the parameters and this is what he sent me -
He used CELL because he didn't know the location of the cell the spreadsheet is checking.
This is the information I gave him;
Hopefully this makes sense - the cell location that is being checked is L53 in my spreadsheet. If anyone can provide some help to me it would me very much appreciated - I'm up against a deadline!
Replace all instances of CELL in the formula with L53.
The formula will return the discount. Let's say you enter the formula in M53.
The discounted amount will then be returned by the formula =L53-M53 in yet another cell, say N53.
Here is a slightly shorter version of the formula:
=L53*LOOKUP(L53,{0,150,200,250,300,500},{0,0.05,0.07,0.1,0.15,0.2})
