How to automate a process of data entry
I everyday update a Masterfile with the new people who have signed up for 5 different surveys and then I download all the 5 Individual survey files with their status and with the help of VLOOKUP, I try to put the status in Masterfile by matching their ID’s. We do this so that we know how many people are still pending to do the survey so we can send the reminder to these people.
What would I like to know is there a possible way to automate this process? Can you please suggest me any ways of how to automate this process of updating the files every day?

This is certainly possible using VBA or Macros. You'll need to be more specific for the community to assist you in your endeavor. It would help to have Non-Sensitive mock ups of each of these files. This will allow the community members to get a look at the way your data is structured. It will also be important to describe in step by step detailed instructions the exact steps you are taking.
Where is the Vlookup input?
Is this done to individual files?
What happens if the vlookup returns an error?
....etc.
The more detail you provide the better chance that you will receive a response.
Perhaps Power Query shall work as well
