Frustrated Noob

I am trying to write a formula that will act on a sheet that has 3 columns, this is for an expense report.  One column has the date, one has the category and one has the amount ($). The amount is to be added together for everything in that category in the specific month on another sheet.   I was able to write a formulas for a single row ----=IF(AND(Expenses!A2>DATE(2024,3,31),Expenses!A2<DATE(2024,5,1),Expenses!B2="Web Advertising"),Expenses!D2,0)

BUT, I need one that looks at Column A for the month, column B for each specific Category and Summ all the amounts in Column D that match that criteria.  Sorry but I am new to the more complicated formulas.

TIA

Kurt

You can use SUMIFS for this purpose:

    =SUMIFS(Expenses!D2:D1000, Expenses!A2:A1000, ">"&DATE(2024, 3, 31), Expenses!A2:A1000, "<"&DATE(2024, 5, 1), Expenses!B2:B1000, "Web Advertising")

    Adjust the ranges as needed.

Thank you. I was trying SUMIFS but I didn't have it quite right. I know see what I was missing.
