Excel basics are very important, for every formula it should start with = and correct spelling of formula. In case, first step of prefixing of = with formula, then check whether cell is left aligned or right aligned. Left aligned means it considered as Text (by default) and right aligned means numbers. Rest of things need to be checked settings.
    Thanks

    Check if

    1) cell the formula is not formatted as Text. If so change format on General and re-enter the formula (F2, Enter); and/or

    2) Show Formula on ribbon is disabled

In Excel 365, if you see the formula displayed in a cell instead of the calculation result, it is likely because the cell is formatted as "Text" instead of "General" or another numeric format. Here's how to resolve this issue:

    1. Select the Cell with the Formula: Click on the cell that contains the formula you want to convert to a calculation result.
    2. Change the Cell Format: In the "Home" tab on the Excel ribbon, locate the "Number Format" dropdown in the "Number" group. It typically shows "General" by default.
    3. Choose a Numeric Format: Click on the "Number Format" dropdown arrow to open the format options. You can choose from various numeric formats, such as "Number," "Currency," "Accounting," or "Percentage," depending on the type of calculation you are performing.
    4. Apply a Format: Select the format that best suits your data and calculation. For most basic calculations, the "Number" format is sufficient.
    5. Observe the Result: After applying the numeric format, you should see the calculation result in the cell instead of the formula.

If you want to see the formula and the result simultaneously, you can do the following:

    1. Formula View: In Excel, you can toggle between showing the formula or the result in a cell.
      • To show the formula, select the cell and look at the formula bar at the top of the Excel window.
      • To show the result, double-click the cell with the formula, and Excel will display the result in the cell.By following these steps, you should be able to display the calculation results in your Excel 365 spreadsheet.
