Fill 50% of a cell with color
You can also use conditional formatting. using a second rule for the second color. here is a comparison:
Does this have anything to do with the value of the cell (or of other cells)?
How do you want to fill it? The left hand side? The right hand side? The top? The bottom? Something else?
Actually I am making a timeline. I need the Cell W9 (red marked) to be marked 50% from left to right.

You could use IMAGE to return a coloured rectangle from the web. It is even possible to colour is by calling a suitable website. Maybe something of overkill and I usually prefer to avoid interacting with the web.
Do you color the cells manually, or do you use conditional formatting?
I have colored the cells by Fill Color, manually. I have given the Excel file.
