Favorites Missing

With the update provided by Version 2604 (Build 19929.20106) April 29th, all Excel documents previously pinned to the Favorites tab have disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Should I roll back the update across the domain?

    Other users in community forums have reported the same behavior, with previously pinned Excel Favorites disappearing after the April 29th update to Version 2604.


    At the time, Microsoft has not released any official advisory, support bulletin, or KB article confirming this as a documented regression. The official release notes for Build 19929.20106 simply state the update contains "various fixes to functionality and performance," with no specific mention of the Favorites feature.

     

    The Favorites data may still exist and simply not be rendering correctly:

    1. Sign out of Microsoft 365 completely, restart the machine, and sign back in.
    2. Clear the Office file cache located at:
      C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache
      (It will rebuild automatically on the next launch.)
    3. Go to File → Office Account → Account Privacy → Manage Settings, and verify that Connected Experiences are properly enabled, as this setting can affect how Favorites and Recent files are displayed.
